Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in 1992. She then began studying marine sciences at the Alaska Pacific University, Anchorage. Bossard's professional career started in 1999 with a job aboard the vessel F/V Sunset. The 65-foot vessel, which was a halibut fishing vessel, was transformed into a salmon tender by Murat Ariatn. He has been commercial fishing for over twenty years. Bossard has been married to Aritan she has joined forces in order to claim their industries. Both of them are proponents of saving as well as profiting from sustainable resources within the industry of seafood. In 2007, the mother of two young children Bella age 3 as well as Andre 1 Bossard before returning to her home in Philadelphia established a direct wholesale distribution of seafood named Otolith. The couple is separated by 5 months and she is able to focus on her financial goals and the environment. Bossard, her son Andre and daughter Isabella are scheduled to return home to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands during the wild salmon harvest.
